Abstract
This study analyzes the factors influencing pedestrian satisfaction with urban infrastructure in La Concordia Canton, Ecuador. A quantitative, non-experimental, cross-sectional, descriptive-correlational design was adopted. A survey was administered to 115 pedestrians through non-probabilistic convenience and snowball sampling. The instrument measured five dimensions: traffic safety perception (TSP), physical infrastructure quality (PIQ), accessibility and connectivity (AC), urban environment comfort (UEC), and global pedestrian satisfaction (GPS), using a five-point Likert scale. Results showed that all dimensions presented means close to the neutral value (M = 3.07–3.27), with accessibility as the strongest predictor of overall satisfaction (rₛ = 0.341; p < 0.001). The Cronbach's alpha coefficient for the complete instrument was 0.699. The Mann-Whitney analysis found no statistically significant gender differences across any dimension. The findings suggest the need for priority interventions in accessibility, connectivity, and urban comfort in the canton's urban area.
